After two semesters of gathering research, running data, writing and re-writing, this Saturday, May 2nd from 11:30 AM- 1 PM, the M.S. Communication & Leadership 2015 graduates will conclude the spring semester by presenting their Capstone research.
Students are encouraged to invite their friends and family to show off all the hard work they’ve dedicated to this project. Faculty, staff members, current students and alum will also be in attendance to ask questions and learn more about the research they’ve conducted.
Take a look at the topics students will be presenting on:
- The Leader Revisited: Self-Awareness Impacting Communication Competency, By: Allison M. Braun
- Male and Female Differences in Relation to Affective Commitment and Donor Intent, By: Sharon Federico
- The New Face of Philanthropy: The Role of Intrinsic Motivation in Millennials’ Attitudes and Intent to Donate to Charitable Organizations, By: Matthew Gorczyca
- The Connection Between Alumni Engagement And Donor Support, By: Cecelia Gotham
- The Use of Social Media in Non-Profit Organizations: Does Having a Sense of Online Community Impact Philanthropic Giving?, By: Ashley L. Lipka

- Communicating the Needs of Retail in a Small Business Setting: A Review of the Components that Encompass the Customer Experience, By: Katie Smith
- Cell Phones: Personal and Relationship Satisfaction, By: Frank J. Sparacino
Students selected topics related to their concentration, either in Managing Not-for-Profits, Organizational Leadership or Integrated Marketing Communication. In the fall semester of a student’s last year in the program, they take COM 605, Research Methods. This is when research topics are decided, and students spend much of their time running their stats on SPSS, definitely not a favorite for most Communication students!
There are nine graduates saying farewell to ComLead, but we are certain that they will stay in touch with the College and program. If you’re interested in this Master’s program, and would like learn more about the kind of research our students did, feel free to attend Saturday’s presentations. RSVP and event details below:
